Josh Cook is a Toronto-based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans orchestral, electronic, rock, and experimental music. With a background in composition, live performance, and studio production, his music blends cinematic storytelling with a strong focus on sound design and production.
As a composer and music director with Soundbooth Theater, Josh creates original music for immersive audiobook productions, including work on Awaken Online, and Mark of the Fool. His approach draws from a wide range of influences, combining orchestral writing with electronic production, heavy textures, and unconventional sounds to build distinct musical worlds around each story.
Outside of Soundbooth Theater, Josh has collaborated with artists ranging from indie rock band Simcoe to blues-pop artist Chloe Watkinson, and has spent more than two decades teaching and mentoring musicians across the Greater Toronto Area.
From the first musical idea through composition, production, mixing, and final delivery, Josh brings a hands-on approach to every stage of the creative process.
